Anthroposophic Nursing Assistant (IFAN)

Certification as an Anthroposophic Nursing Assistant can be achieved by Nursing Assistants in a further education course or, where none is available, on a portfolio route. Nursing Assistant courses consist of 200 learning units, (1 unit = 45 min). Nursing Assistant courses can be completed within an Anthroposophic Nursing Foundation Course

A Nursing Assistant course must be accredited by the International Forum for Anthroposophic Nursing

Portfolio route
Is possible, if it allows candidates to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The portfolio route needs a personal mentor who is an Anthroposophic Nursing Specialist. Student and mentor work out a “learning balance” and decide about further steps on individual studies. After completing the portfolio route and after fulfilling formal requirements which are described in the handbook, the mentor recommends the student for the Anthroposophic Nursing Assistant exam.

The Handbook of the Certification Anthroposophic Nursing Assistants (IFAN) describes the general requirements for Anthroposophic Nursing Assistant trainings and is the fundament for their accreditation with IFAN.
